What were your motivations for selling?
I had built up my practice over many years, from an NHS squat to a modern mixed, mainly private practice. I felt that it was time to reduce my clinical hours, but I wanted to sell at the right time. Dental Elite gave me expert advice over the last 5 years so I could make my decision.
Did you have any concerns regarding the market or the transaction process?
My practice went on the market just before the pandemic hit, so I was concerned initially. We navigated COVID-19 very well and our robust performance and increased turnover helped the transaction process.
What were the main challenges of the process? How did you overcome them?
The CQC process was a challenge; however, what helped was the patience from my consultants. The bank financing was arguably worse than the CQC process, which is difficult to believe.
What did you think of the support provided throughout?

Would you have any advice for other vendors?
Be patient; plan years ahead. Get your management information in order. Check supply contracts; do not agree to anything long-term to allow swift low-cost transfer. Switch to digital to allow easy transfers to Data Rooms.
